Kirsty & Steve’s Walled Garden Cowdray Wedding began quite literally with a bang as a huge thunderstorm rolled in over the Downs on the morning of their big day. Thankfully, as quickly as it blew in it blew away and long before the day was over blue skies and brilliant sunshine had replaced the storm clouds, making for the most perfect backdrop.
Kirsty looked so lovely in her 50’s style gown and short veil, complimented by her maids in delicate pastel shades as she arrived to meet her Dad for the short journey to the ceremony. And as ceremonies go this one was right up there, with so much love and true emotion clear to see between these two right from the moment the first bars of ‘Sweet Disposition’ filled the room and Kirsty made her entrance.
The ceremony was followed by a confetti shower of petals and a mini afternoon tea on the lawn. Kirsty and Steve had really gone all out with the details with all manner of games for guests to get themselves involved in including a photobooth and a raffle! And the attention to detail didn’t stop there. As well as handcrafting much of the stationery Kirsty and Steve had collected lots of vintage tin caddies to use as vases on the tables and had made up little bags of party favours for the guests to entertain themselves with during dinner.
Speeches over, the cake was cut and as afternoon gave way to evening, ice cream cones in all the very best of flavours were served up and as the sun started to set we headed off to the ruins for photos. Leaving them just before the evening fun got underway, I looked back through that big old oak door to see Kirsty and Steve and their friends and family happy and relaxed in the warm glow of the evening sunshine feeling 100% safe in the knowledge that this had been one fab day in what will no doubt be a lifetime of fab days together 🙂
