My wedding season wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of my all time favourite venues, Court Gardens Farm in Ditchling, Sussex and it was great to be back there for Matt and Amanda’s big day in June. The day started at Amanda’s sister’s beautiful farmhouse and amid all the hustle and bustle that goes on on the morning of a wedding, Amanda remained completely calm and totally relaxed as she got herself ready, with her pastel clad maids on hand to help, and in to the camper van for the drive to the church.
Living just round the corner, Matt was waiting bright and early for his bride and looked very dapper in his bow tie as the anticipation built and guests arrived for the ceremony, which went ahead without a hitch and included a celebratory lap of the church courtesy of Amanda’s young nephew!
Photos in the church grounds followed and family and friends were then driven to the reception in a lovely old vintage Eastbourne bus. As always the barn at Court Gardens Farm is the best of blank canvases to decorate, and Amanda and Matt’s rustic, country theme worked perfectly with wild flower style arrangements on all the tables and the chairs covered in pretty florals from the super lovely team at Doris Loves. The naked cake, stacked high and loaded with summer fruit played ball for the photographs and still looked fab even after a minor wrestle with the summer heat 😉
Speeches got underway out in the courtyard while Jaqui and her team got to work on one of their tasty feasts, following up with a heaving dessert table and sweets for the little ones. As the sun started to dip and give off it’s evening glow we headed for the vineyard for photos in the warm sunshine then walked back to the barn where the band were getting ready for the first dance (being a complete and utter thirty-something Twilight nut, I have to commend the bride and groom on their excellent choice of music for this 😉 ) As the evening party got underway and the fairylights came on it was lovely to see Matt & Amanda looking so happy and content. Huge congrats to them for serving up a perfect slice of English summer on their wedding day – a thousand beautiful summers are right around the corner for this lovely couple!
