Looking at the pictures of Will & Clare’s Gallivant Hotel wedding it is hard to believe that a few hours before their ceremony, the remnants of Hurricane Bertha were causing weather related problems across the South. Driving along the coast road from Brighton to Camber in gale force winds and relentless rain had me running through all manner of photo contingency plans in my head but when I arrived I needn’t have worried about any of that. Clare was completely relaxed about it all – there really was not a flicker of doubt that the weather was going to spoil the day and as the ceremony began the rain stopped and the sun came out!
The Gallivant Hotel is just such a lovely place for a wedding with so much rustic beachside charm, perfectly suited to Will & Clare and their relaxed, fun and earthy nature. They both wanted the whole day to reflect that and every aspect of it did. From the ceremony right through to the evening party it all flowed perfectly. I just loved the colour theme of turquoise, blue and yellow, the little nods to their travels and hobbies, the beautifully decorated marquee and the brilliant cakes and cookies all created by the super talented Tess at Chattercakes.
I am very glad that we were able to head across the road to the dunes for some pictures before the evening party got underway. Anyone who knows Camber Sands well will tell you that it can get a touch on the windy side and we’d already had plenty of wind to contend with earlier! So worth braving it for the view that greeted us on the other side of the dunes 🙂
What a totally fab day this was surrounded by Clare and Will’s family and friends. So welcoming and all on the same wavelength. I send them all of my very best wishes for a very happy marriage and hope that I get to return to the Gallivant next year 🙂
