Emma & Maria got married on one of those beautiful hot and sunny Sussex days exactly one year ago, and the weather was just perfect for their Ditchling Village Barn wedding 🙂
(Before I go on, I must just thank them and their family and friends for being so brilliant on the day – my children had very kindly passed on a stomach bug to me from which I was still suffering on the morning of their wedding. Their kindness and patience kept me calm and focused and I’m very glad that I was able to continue shooting throughout the day!)
The girls had chosen the very lovely Art Deco Alfresco on Brighton Seafront as their ceremony venue with big views looking out over the West Pier and the sparkling sea beyond. What a very nice place to say your I do’s! After the ceremony we walked down on to the beach for photos in the summer sunshine before heading off into the country on a red, vintage, London double decker. Such good fun whizzing along with the back of the bus open to the elements!
Ditchling Village Barn looked so pretty with fairy lights and hanging lanterns wrapped around the old rafters and laid out for a Tapas lunch – a nod to Maria’s Spanish roots – and afterwards there were lawn games and later, ice-cream and photobooth fun to be had. I loved that the booth was handcrafted and hung from the branches of a tree on the spacious lawn outside. Thanks to the glorious weather the day felt positively mediterranean in all respects – a relaxed coming together to enjoy good food, good company and the best of good times on this very special day.
