I love shooting weddings in my hometown of Brighton, but it is also really nice to shoot further afield every now and again and Chris & Rebecca’s South Farm wedding in Cambridgeshire fitted the bill perfectly!
I’d met up with Chris and Rebecca in the spring for their pre-wedding shoot on Hampstead Heath and also got to meet their little puppy (who made a cameo appearance at the wedding too!)
South Farm is such a great venue for a wedding with its instantly recognisable blue front door and reception barn. I arrived early to find the setting up underway, with friends and family lending Chris and Rebecca a helping hand to get everything ready for the big day ahead.
I’m so pleased that they were able to have the outdoor ceremony as planned under the pagoda on the lake – so romantic! As guests enjoyed ice creams afterwards, we nipped off to to the quirky gypsy caravans for photos with the pup, before dinner was served in the festoon lit barn.
I do enjoy the speeches at weddings (I’ve heard many a a hair raising tale over the past 10 years of childhood shenanigans and stag party ‘mishaps’) but I have to hand it to Chris’ amazing best woman who sang her speech in flawless musical style! Touching and heartfelt, it’s got to be right up there with the best I’ve heard.
Before the evening party got going, we took full advantage of the soft evening light and that magnificent tree lined driveway for more photos and a quick pit stop on the way back to cuddle the farm piglets! Both Chris and Rebecca looked great in their wedding outfits and I loved Rebecca’s flower crown and wildflower bouquet.
As the evening dancing, photobooth fun and very energetic game of ping pong kicked in to gear, I left this lovely young couple and all of their family and friends to enjoy the celebrations long into the most perfect of summer nights 🙂
If you are having a South Farm Wedding and are looking for a relaxed, family focused, wedding photographer then do get in touch. I’d love to hear all about your plans for the big day!
