Brighton Wedding Photographer | Sussex Wedding Photographer
Here is a list of my most frequently asked questions. If you can’t find the info you are looking for below then just drop me an email firstname.lastname@example.org and I will be very happy to answer any queries you might have
DO YOU TRAVEL?
I am a Brighton wedding photographer and I mostly cover East & West Sussex. I also photograph weddings in the neighbouring counties of Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, across London and further afield if you ask me!
WHAT KIND OF WEDDINGS DO YOU SHOOT AND HOW MANY PER YEAR?
I shoot weddings of all sizes that are usually relaxed, family focused, creative and non-traditional in style. You can browse through lots of lovely weddings on my blog here!
Making sure that you get the very best of me and my creative energy, and that I can give my full attention and care to your wedding, is really important. That’s why I don’t work with a production line mentality and limit the number of weddings I shoot a year to around 15.
ARE YOU INSURED?
All of my camera equipment is insured and I have Public Liability Insurance.
DO YOU INCLUDE PRE-WEDDING SHOOTS IN YOUR PACKAGES?
Pre-wedding shoots are included in both my full and half day packages. I highly recommend them as it gives us both the chance to meet up before the big day and have a mini dry run! Most couples feel a little bit awkward in front of the camera, that’s perfectly natural! Pre-wedding shoots are all about helping you to relax, putting the stresses of wedding planning to one side for an hour or two, and getting a fantastic set of fun photos
DO YOU HAVE A PLAN ON THE DAY AND WHAT HAPPENS IF IT POURS WITH RAIN OR YOU ARE ILL?
A month or so before the wedding we will have a run through the plan or schedule. This will include, amongst other things, the timetable for the day and where we can make best use of that time for must have photos without eating into the most important thing – you being able to celebrate the best day of your lives, with those that matter most to you.
I secretly love a wet wedding, prepare for it in advance if the weather is looking dicey, and fully embrace it! I’ve photographed weddings in relentless, day long rain on many occasions and relish the opportunity to dig out the brollies and boots!
Unless I am bed-bound or hanging over the loo, I will be shooting your wedding! In ten years, I have never had to miss a wedding due to illness but if this were to happen I will do my absolute best to call on a network of similarly experienced professional photographers to come and cover your day in my place.
DO WE HAVE TO BOOK YOU FOR THE WHOLE DAY?
Not at all! I offer hourly rates for small week day weddings and elopements and half days also. Half day bookings are most likely available on low season Saturdays, Sunday and weekdays. BUT – if I have a peak season Saturday free at short notice, I would be very happy to hear all about your plans!
CAN WE HAVE GROUP PHOTOS?
Of course! I recommend between 8 -10 different combinations (that I can advise you on ahead of the day) to keep things flowing along nicely. Be prepared to sport a fixed maniacal smile and a leg cramp if you want more!
DO YOU WORK WITH A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
With close to a decade’s worth of experience photographing weddings, I am confident working alone, but do have a network of similarly experienced photographers who I can work with.
I would recommend booking a second photographer, only if you are expecting well over 100 guests attending the whole day, would like a second perspective or angle, or, are going to spend any length of time away from your wedding party. This can sometimes happen if you have a very specific idea for couple photos of just the two of you that can’t be achieved at your venue.
HOW LONG WILL WE HAVE TO WAIT BEFORE WE SEE OUR PHOTOS AND HOW MANY WILL WE GET?
Lots of my couples can’t wait to get a sneak peek of the day! With your permission, I will pop a selection of images up on my Facebook page within 48 hours of the wedding that you can then easily share.
A full set of your images will then be uploaded to a password protected, online gallery within 4-8 weeks of the wedding date depending on the season in which you marry. There will naturally be a longer wait over the peak summer months.
You can expect a minimum of 150 images with black and white duplicates (300+ in total) for half day weddings and a minimum of 300 images with black and white duplicates (600+ in total) for full day weddings.
CAN WE PRINT OUT OUR PHOTOS AND DO YOU DO ALBUMS?
Your photos will be delivered to you on a custom USB pen. You have full permission granted to print and use your photos in any way you wish (gorgeous wall art, celebratory tea towels, commemorative mugs etc ) There is an option within your online gallery to order professional archive prints.
I use, Folio Albums. Handcrafted, high quality and eco -friendly, these beautiful albums really do showcase your wedding photos in the best possible way.
HOW DO WE SECURE OUR DATE?
Simple! I will forward a booking form for you to complete along with the Terms and Conditions. A £250 non-refundable booking fee secures your date. This will be deducted from the remainder of your balance
LASTLY – HOW ON EARTH DO WE PRONOUNCE YOUR SURNAME?!
I know – it’s a bit of a mouthful isn’t it! I have my half polish husband to thank for it. It’s pronounced Kvee – at – kov – ska and its literal english translation is little flower. Don’t worry if you can’t get your tongue around it – Sue is 100% fine!
